XCell Holiday Fitness Challege

 

Results for the 2011 Holiday Fitness Challenge

Finally all the results have been tabulated.  The group as a whole lost a staggering 67 lbs and 82 inches.  Remember, this was over the holidays!  The goal was to just not gain weight and to do moderate activity.  Overwhelmingly, most achieved this goal.  This super charged group exceeded all expectations.

fitness challengeWhat is it?  The Xcell Challenge is a fabulous way to stay healthy through the holidays.

Yes the hap, hap, happiest season is also the time most Americans gain upwards of 5 lbs of fat per year.  Many never loss it.  Each year they gain another 5 on top of last year’s 5.  Why not do it differently this year?

What do I have to do?  You need to sign up, get weighed and measured and then commit to staying fit over the most difficult time to stay fit time of the year.  Commit to your health this year.  Just 30 minutes a day for the next 8 weeks makes a HUGE difference. 

presentDetails:  To win the top prizes you need to earn points based on the system below.  The more points you accumulate, the bigger a prize you will win.  There are different categories which keeps it fun.

You will have access to an account to log all your meals and track your activity.  Of course, you can do as much or as little of the program and the tracking as you like. 

turkeyAs a personal trainer and coach over the past 10 years I can assure you that accountability has proven very effective.  A little peer pressure doesn’t hurt either!

All are welcome and newcomers are greatly encouraged. 

First is the Fitness Challenge Push Up, Pulll Up and Plank test.  Thursday, January 5th at 5:30 PM come on over to Ortho Sport to show off your hard earned skills. 
Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon is the weigh in and measurements.  Don't be a DNF (did not finish)!  Even if you don't think you lost anything you can still win something!  Winners will be announced on Monday!

Points awarded as follows:

Inches

No weight gain:  +20 points
Weight loss 1- 5 lbs: +25 points
Weight loss 5-10 lbs: +30 points
Weight loss 10+ lbs:  +40 points
Combined inch loss of 1-5 inches:  +5 points
6-10 inches : +10 points

Activity

Demonstrate

Activity of any kind counts, cleaning up the house,
yard work, playing at the park with your kids.  Keep it fun!
35-45 logged workouts: + 5 points
45-55 logged workouts: +10
56+ logged workouts:  +15
20 push ups in a row:  +5
5 pull ups in a row:  +5
Plank 3 minutes: +5

Or compete!

 
5k or any other race: +5  

Yes, this is a challenge but I know you can do it!!

When: Beginning the week of November 14th, Second weigh in and final stats by Jan 7th
