Riding out in the remote areas of the desert is great training and offers fantastic scenery.  However, it is desolate out there.  That is scary in the unlikely but possible situation with a mechanical issue or running low on fluids.   Many of us chose to ride closer to town in case there is a problem.  This is an opportunity to ride where you may not always get a chance to go. 

• These fun rides start at 5:30 AM (rolling) from the upper parking lot at Boulder Beach in the Lake Mead Recreation Area. 
• Water, Ice, Gatorade and snacks will be provided on the course. 
• A sag vehicle will be on the course. 
• Ride is supported for 75 miles from Boulder Beach to past Callville Bay.
• Maps and emergency cell numbers will be given to all riders.

All riders must wear helmets.  No exceptions.  All riders are required to sign waiver.  The roads will be open for traffic.  Obey all rules of the road.  Ride on the shoulder when possible.  Do not block road by riding 2 or more across road when there is oncoming traffic.   Helmet mirrors recommended.  Minor mechanical problems may be able to be fixed by sag but no major problems will be addressed.  Have your bike in good working order for this ride.  Last aid station closes at 10:30 AM.  Support cut off time is 11:00 AM.  Plan your turn around accordingly.
