I am a Level 2 certified triathlon coach. I've coached a wide variety of athletes from first-timers, to athletes going to Kona. Mostly, I coach people with challenging schedules: professional firemen, pilots, physicians on call, and many athletes working non-traditional hours or with extensive travel schedules. My focus is on injury prevention and balance. Many I've coached are working with physical limitations—or injuries—that require unique scheduling of workouts. All levels receive completely custom plans designed around your specific time available to train, goals and your specific strengths and weaknesses.

Xcell personalized training programs are incremental in nature. To begin, I'll analyze information gathered from your application and a subsequent phone consultation. Then I design a unique training plan based on your endurance sport experience, competitive goals, time constraints and energy level. My goal is to gradually build your fitness to a peak for your target competition(s) at a level of training you can complete with good energy, injury free. Training plans are emailed on a bi-weekly basis. I encourage you to contact me whenever needed with feedback and questions about season planning, specific workouts, technique work, equipment, nutrition, and any other training or competition related issues via email or phone. From years of experience I know that being consistent with any training regime is crucial to its success, therefore I recommend a minimum three-month initial commitment to my program.

If you are just getting started and are not sure how much coaching you need you may want to “Tri It”. OR, if you just need some structure and are motivated to do what is laid out for you, then the Tri It, You’ll Like It” plan is for you! Hey, if you like it, you can always move to a different level.

Designed for athletes who aim to “Xceed” expectations and desire close monitoring of their training progression. This plan is limited to those who want regular advisement, feedback, one-on-one consultation and performance testing.

If you are ready to make a serious commitment to your training and lifestyle and are willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level, then this is the plan for you. You have unlimited coach access and constant feedback for all training. You will be coached through monthly marker sets to analyze progress.

Individual or Group Swim Training
This is an area that has held back many an individual from getting into the wonderful world of triathlon. I have coached many individuals from barely getting across the pool one time to Ironman. Even if you are not planning on EVER going that far, I can help you get comfortable and efficient in the water. With a series of drills that are pertinent to your particular concerns, you will feel more balanced and be able to breathe better pretty quickly. While we all learn at different rates, everyone can improve over time. Cost is $80.00 per session hour.
Open Water Swim Training
This is a personal mission of mine and I believe this is one of the most important things you can do before your first race. Your safety and comfort level are of primary importance. Your swim in open water will teach you the ins and outs of sighting, pacing, relaxing in the water and race strategies for whatever level you are at. Wetsuit or non wetsuit swims are covered in detail. Your swim will be kayak assisted, complete with rescue buoys. I have many years of water rescue skills in races, group events and personal sessions. I am the only coach in Las Vegas permitted and insured to give instruction in open water in Lake Mead. Cost is $100.00 per session hour.
Computrainer Testing and Analysis
Want to get faster on the bike? Proven by professional triathletes, cyclists and age groupers to improve speed and pedaling efficiency, the CompuTrainer system provides an exciting and technically superior way to stay motivated through the long winter months. Coach-designed interval workouts will improve your power output and race speed. Power, heart rate and perceived exertion are all evaluated in each session. Threshold workouts are also available to determine your best pace for your race distance. Cost is $75.00 per session.

Lose fat, gain muscle, and improve nutritional choices. Custom pre-race and race day food and hydration plans are designed to help you reach your potential.
Lifestyle Consultation
Find ways to improve your energy, learn how to make time for exercise and discover ways to make better choices for your overall health.
